This is a list of fictional characters who have Obsessive-Compulsive disorder
* Adrian Monk, titular character in Monk
* Dr. Kevin Casey, a doctor in Scrubs, played by Michael J. Fox
* Melvin Udall, the cranky, foul mouthed main character played by Jack Nicholson in the movie As Good as It Gets
* Leonardo Di Caprio accurately portrays the obsessive-compulsive behaviours of the famous American innovator and film maker Howard Hughes in the film The Aviator
* The con artist Roy Walker, played by Nicholas Cage in the film Matchstick Men, displays many traits of the disorder, in addition to panic disorder and agoraphobia.
There has been debate among some readers of Shakespeare on whether the character Lady MacBeth in The Tragedy of Macbeth exhibits symptoms of OCD toward the end of the play. She is tormented with guilt and anxiety about the crimes committed by her husband and herself, and is seen to be repeatedly washing her hands in order to cleanse herself of imaginary blood on them that symbolises the atrocities that she has taken part in.
